Electronics Engineer
Ion Audio is expanding and is seeking to hire an experienced Audio Electronics Engineer.
Experience and Education Required:
The candidate for this position must have a minimum of 7 to 10 years experience designing and developing mass market audio products. The candidate must have strong experience in the areas of analog and digital audio for microcontroller based products. A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field, is required.
Key Job Responsibilities and Technical Experience Requirements:
Interprets and implements product performance specifications in order to design and specify audio electronics based products. Works with product managers to develop functional specifications; researches components and costs; Specifies, designs, and implements analog and digital audio processing circuitry, microcontroller circuitry, and DSP code.
This is a hands-on design engineering position ideal for an engineer with a passion for developing audio products. The candidate must have proven experience designing and testing analog signal processing, including designing DSP and microcontroller circuits, performing schematic capture, as well as developing DSP code and firmware code for various DSP and microcontroller IC’s.
Strong experience with Audio Precision is a must, including writing test procedures for manufacturing. Experience with FilterShop is a plus. The candidate must have schematic capture and BOM experience. PCB layout experience is preferred.
The ideal candidate for this position would have a mix of experience designing audio mixers, signal processing equipment, loudspeaker processing, etc. Experience developing products which interface to mobile phones, tablet computers, and PC’s is a plus. Experience designing and testing class-D power amplifiers and switch mode power supplies is a plus. Experience with wireless audio and communication protocols is a plus. Candidates with professional audio product experience will be preferred.
The candidate must have strong project management and communication skills. Experience working with far-east suppliers and contract manufacturers is highly desirable.
This position is located at our headquarters in Cumberland, RI (approximately 60 minutes from Boston, MA). This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
