WMBD/WYZZ TV - PEORIA -- Still living a low-tech existence? Would you rather be "Living in HD"? That's the name of a contest
Panasonic just launched. The electronics giant will choose 100 families across America.
Each family will receive $20,000 in HD equipment, including TVs, camcorders, Blu-Ray disc players, home theater systems, and more. Go to
LivingInHD.com to enter. The deadline is August 31st.
Speaking of low tech to high tech,
Ion Audio has come up with another way for you to convert old recordings to digital music. The company already makes turntables with USB cables, so you can turn your old records into mp3 files. Now, Ion is coming out with a
tape deck, which does the same thing with your prized cassettes. It should retail around $100.
Ion Audio products are available at popular chains including Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Sam's Club. Sorry...these guys don't offer 8-track conversion solutions...not yet, anyway.
Just as people skirt the law by pirating movies...some do the same with pirated video games. Movie
pirates are caught and punished...so why not video buccaneers? Last week, Customs agents raided more than 30 businesses and homes in 16 states...including Illinois...searching for pirated video games. As they say in the horror movie promos...you have been warned.
Late last week, a Mt. Vernon, IL man was sentenced to 2 years in prison for copyright law violation for the unauthorized sale of video games and DVDs on his website.
