ION RECEIVES CES INNOVATIONS 2009 DESIGN AND ENGINEERING AWARD

Industry’s Top Accolade in Electronic-Gaming Category Awarded to Drum Rocker

Cumberland, R.I. (Nov. 17, 2008) – ION (ionaudio.com), a leader in consumer audio and entertainment technology, announced that it was named an International CES Innovations 2009 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for Drum Rocker, the Official Premium Drum Set for the Rock Band 2 video game.

Drum Rocker delivers the most realistic drumming experience available to any gamer, regardless of platform. The drum kit is designed to take a real-world beating with all of the positioning flexibility that professional drummers demand. While other drum controllers lock gamers down to a pre-molded plastic array of pads, Drum Rocker's professional aluminum drum rack enables drummers and gamers alike to position their snare, tom and cymbal pads wherever they want. When players are ready to move from playing Rock Band to playing in a rock band, they can swap the game controller module with a professional DM5 drum-sound module from Alesis, and they are ready to hit the road for real.

A widely renowned consumer-technology awards program since 1976, the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards recognize achievements in product design and engineering.  Innovations entries are judged based on engineering qualities, aesthetic and design qualities, intended function and user value and unique features that consumers would find attractive.

“Drum Rocker has received superb reviews throughout the gaming industry. To be further recognized by the Consumer Electronics Association for design and engineering is a great honor,” stated Scott Elrich, Senior Product Manager, ION.

Drum Rocker will be on display and ready to play at ION Booth #XXXXX, at the 2009 International CES, which runs January 8-11, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category at the Sands Expo and Convention Center/The Venetian, Booth #72062. Best of Innovations honoree products will also be displayed at the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center, next to Experience CEA and at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 6.

Drum Rocker is available now at drumrocker.com for Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3 gaming systems. A Drum Rocker model for use with Nintendo Wii is forthcoming. Each version sells for $299.99.
