WATER ROCKER, New Waterproof Speakers by ION, to be Showcased at Summer NAMM

The wireless WATER ROCKER system gives iPod and iPhone waterproof speakers with a 150-foot range and built-in FM radio.

Cumberland, R.I. (July 19, 2011) – ION, a leader in consumer audio and entertainment technology, announces WATER ROCKER, a floating, waterproof speaker system for iPod and iPhone. ION will showcase WATER ROCKER at Booth #400 at the 2011 Summer NAMM show from July 21st- 23rd in Nashville, TN.

More than just portable audio speakers, WATER ROCKER waterproof speakers for iPod or iPhone actually float in the water and are perfect for pools, lakes, or bringing to the beach. WATER ROCKER consists of two components: a transmitter for iPod, iPhone or other portable music devices, and a buoyant, ball-shaped speaker that is waterproof at level iPX7. The iPod or iPhone stays secure and dry on land, enclosed in WATER ROCKER’s transmitter. Music is sent wirelessly to WATER ROCKER’s floating stereo speaker system, which can be as much as 150 feet away.

WATER ROCKER waterproof speakers also contain a built-in FM radio for listening to news, talk, sports and music stations. WATER ROCKER's elegant shape and design make it a pleasant-looking addition to a hot tub or bath where it can be used to play soothing music.

In addition to providing waterproof speakers for iPod, iPhone and other small music devices, WATER ROCKER’s standard 1/8” connection allows any compatible audio source to be plugged into the transmitter including televisions, CD players or home stereo systems. WATER ROCKER is also expandable, with one WATER ROCKER transmitter capable of supporting up to 9 additional WATER ROCKER floating speaker systems (sold separately).

“WATER ROCKER is the perfect pool, beach or bath companion,” said Wendy Mittelstadt, Product Manager, ION. “Relaxing and listening to music go hand-in-hand, and now people can actually bring their music in the water with them.”
