Portable, Hand-Held Scanner Saves Images to SD cards and Transfers Via USB.

Cumberland, R.I. (Jan. 6, 2011) – ION (, a leading manufacturer of consumer electronics and entertainment technology, announce they are now shipping COPY CAT, a portable, hand-held document scanner with USB and micro SD card capabilities. ION will unveil COPY CAT at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), booth #12638, in Las Vegas, Nevada from January 6 – 9.

COPY CAT quickly captures papers, photos, and other documents on the go. COPY CAT’s sturdy, lightweight design is easy and safe to carry around, while the included carry pouch keeps COPY CAT protected when in transit.

COPY CAT is slim and can easily be used with one hand. The curved exterior sides of COPY CAT allow for a comfortable handle and four rubber-coated rollers run along the lens providing smooth tracking when scanning documents. COPY CAT can scan up to 600dpi ensuring high-resolution files can be captured without any loss of quality. COPY CAT can also scan in either color or black-and-white.

COPY CAT runs on standard AA batteries and writes to micro SD cards, so a computer is not necessary during the scanning process. COPY CAT supports micro SD cards up to 32MB in size, which means more than 30,000 pages can be scanned on a single card. Ejecting the micro SD card and inserting it into any compatible card reader offers a convenient method of transferring scanned images from COPY CAT to computer.

COPY CAT also has a mini USB port to connect directly to a computer for easy, drag-and-drop transfer of scans to your Mac or PC. OCR (optical character recognition) software is included with COPY CAT enabling words within scanned documents to be converted into editable text.

“COPY CAT provides a simple, efficient solution to scan, archive and share all your photos and documents,” said Adam Cohen, Director of Marketing and Business Development, ION.
